Founder and CEO Thomas Ellis
Thomas is sales management veteran with over 20 years experience in coaching, consulting, developing sales personnel, and managers. He brings a real world perspective to assisting sales organizations achieve their goals.
Thomas began his professional sales career in the copier industry and then to the telecommunications industry where he was employed by Motorola and Nextel which merged with Sprint in 2005. Thomas spent 13 years with Sprint Nextel where he held several Sales Manager and Director of Sales positions where he was a consistent President’s Council achiever. One of many highlights in his career at Nextel was that he developed the first Corporate Account and Government sales teams in the Baltimore/Washington area which led the nation in sales productivity.
Having built a reputation and track record for creating sales teams that exceeded corporate goals, Thomas believed that in order for organizations to realize strong and sustainable growth, they needed to return to the basic tenets of good salesmanship.
Thomas concluded that the foundation of successful salesmanship was falling along the wayside. In his view, the building blocks of sales—relationship building, win-win strategies, and consultative selling—were being replaced by hard-sell tactics and self-centered approaches. This passion for wanting to help other sales organizations reach their goals inspired him to found EWC Consultants.
Thomas graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He, and his wife Charon reside in Brandywine, MD. When he’s not working Thomas enjoys mentoring young men, community service, and playing golf.
